Five from DHS qualify for state powerlifting meet

In its inaugural season, the DHS powerlifting team has managed to send five lifters to the LHSAA State Powerlifting meet at West Monroe High School in West Monroe this weekend.

On the girls’ side Keyshawn Smith qualified in the 114-pound weight class and Paige Mitchell qualified in the 191-pound weight class.  For boys’ team, Raymond Collins qualified in the 148-pound weight class, Jason Mills in the 275-pound weight class, and Tyron Ward qualified in the super heavyweight class.  

The teams’ coaches are Corey Sewell and Coach Curtis Tsuruda.
