Ascension Catholic’s 2015 defensive end and tight end Delmond Landry has verbally committed to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Landry announced via twitter on July 19 after returning from a Ragin’ Cajun camp where he fell in love with the Sun Belt Conference Division I school.

“ULL has been on my mind for a while and my family went there also,” Landry said. “I committed because of the family they have feels like home and I love the coaching staff and they have a good program.”

During the July 19 camp, Landry says he went out there and gave his all, showing his true potential.

“They were impressed and offered me,” he said.

Landry earned All-Metro honors after last season’s 6-4 record anchoring the Bulldog’s defensive. He finished 2013 with 73 tackles, 21 sacks and 17 tackles for loss. He was also named 8-1A Defensive MVP, and was a first-team selection to the All-State team.
