Ascension Catholic Cross Country Teams place third at Baton Rouge Metro Meet

The Ascension Catholic boys' cross country team finished third overall at metro meet.

The Ascension Catholic Cross Country Team competed at the Baton Rouge Metro Meet at Highland Road Park on November 10, 2014. Both the boys’ and girls’ teams finished third overall.

The boys’ varsity team finished third out of 19 teams. The team was led by Zach Capello who finished 1st overall out of 212 runners with a time of 15:10 for the three-mile course. Jordan Zeringue finished in 11th place with a time of 16:32. Thomas Daigle finished in 20th place with a time of 16:51. The rest of the team finished as follows:  Luke Spano (17:37), Hayes Rousseau (18:08), Logan Thibodeaux (19:03), Aaron Landry (19:59), and Matthew Gros (23:09).

The girls’ varsity team finished thirdout of 9 teams. Leading the girl’s team was Stephanie Breaux who finished in 2nd place out of 92 runners with a new school record time of 18:30 for the three-mile course. Haley Dupre finished in 19th place with a time of 20:29. Catherine Eure finished 29th with a time of 21:24. The rest of the team finished as follows: Whitney Eure (21:27), Bailey LeBlanc (21:55), Danielle Brou (21:56), and Meredith Daigle (24:54),

The team next competes on November 17, 2014 in Natchitoches, La. at the LHSAA State Championship Meet.
