ACHS girls’ powerlifting take Regional title, boys do well

The Ascension Catholic girls’ powerlifting team finished first overall in the East Region that composed of 12 teams. ACHS scored 35 points to get the title. Joseph Ryan is the team’s first-year head coach.

In the 105-pound weight class, Brandi Landry finished third place with a 545-pound three-lift total. In the 114-pound weight class Kedra Mason finished first place with a t 485-pound three-lift total, while Claire Albarado finished third in the same weight class with a 385-pound three-lift total.

In the 123-pound weight class, Jordan Diez finished second place with a 580-pound three-lift total, while Paige Joseph finished fifth place with a 475-pound three-lift total.

In the 132-pound weight class, Micahyln Daigle finished second place with a 540-pound three-lift total, while Niesha Brooks finished fifth place with a 440-pound three-lift total.

In the 148-pound weight class, Kayla Tripode finished second place with a 680-pound three-lift total.

In the 165-pound weight class, Osharqua Lewis finished second place with a 725-pound three-lift total, while Kenshell Davis finished sixth place with a 595-pound three-lift total.

The boys’ team finished in sixth place out of 19 schools. The team will have a chance to compete very well at the state competition.

In the 114-pound weight class, Nick Milano finished second place with a 615-pound three-lift total.

In the 132-pound weight class, Joe Landry finished fourth place with a 735-pound three-lift total, while Jacob LaGrange finished seventh place with a 665-pound three-lift total.

In the148-pound weight class, Alex Troxclair took eighth place with a 745-pound three-lift total.

In the 165-pound weight class, Austin Settoon took fourth place with a 985-pound three-lift total, while Cole Amedee finished ninth place with an 820-pound three-lift total.

In the 181-pound weight class, Ashton Bourgeois finished fourth place with a 1095-pound three-lift total, while Robert Lemann finished eleventh place with a 655-pound three-lift total.

In the 198-pound weight class, Lee Landry took sixth place with a 1110-pound three-lift total, while Landon Daigle finished seventh place with a 1095-pound three-lift total.

In the 220-pound weight class, Brennan Milano finished sixth place with a 1055-pound three-lift total.

The State Powerlifting meet will be on March 20-21.
