Ascension Catholic junior pitcher Julia Beck winds up to pitch in the victory against East Iberville last week.

The Ascension Catholic Lady Bulldogs (10-3, 3-0) took their softball season to another level last week playing a game each day of the week and most importantly winning them all. Between March 16 and March 20 the Lady Bulldogs played six games, including wins over the no. 2 ranked 5A opponent, a district-opener win and a second 20-0 district win at White Castle.

Head coach Brandy Hahn said after the sweep against East Iberville it’s always good to get a win, “especially in district.”

“I like the way we came out, especially in the firs inning and executed,” Hahn said. “We had to get adjusted in the first game so I’m glad we made adjustments coming into the second game.”

The Lady Bulldogs team is a young team this year and Hahn said the team won’t look to use that as an excuse for anything this year.

“We’re looking for all of them to be big bats, whether they start or not,” Hahn said.

Hahn added, “We always go with the best nine, however that looks that’s what we go with.”

The Lady Bulldogs return home on March 30 to host West St. John. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
