ACHS, DHS track teams compete well at Dutchtown meet

Dutchtown High hosted its annual Elder Outreach Invitational on April 1 and welcomed both Ascension Catholic and Donaldsonville High School teams to compete.

On the girls’ side, DHS’ Terralicia Mercadel finished fifth place with a time 12.63 in the 100-meter dash. She also finished fourth place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.09. She also won the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.66.

ACHS’ Stephanie Breaux finished second place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:31.20. Breaux also finished fourth in the 3200-meter run with at time of 12:04.62, while teammate Sophie Daigle finished fifth in the 3200-meter run with a time of 12:23.62. ACHS’ Whitney Eure finished fifth in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:50.67.

DHS’ Xenet Carter finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.01. DHS’ Kaylynn Foster finished fourth place in the shot put with a thrown of 33’2”.

On the boys’ side, ACHS’ Zach Capello won the 3200-meter run with a time of 10:17.38. DHS’ Stephen Sullivan finished fifth place in the high jump with a height of 5’10”. DHS’ Floyd Foster finished fourth place in the shot put with a distance of 46’01”.
