South Carolina State's Shaquan Davis celebrates TD with Deion Sanders' dance in Atlanta
After tying the Celebration Bowl at 7-7 with a touchdown reception in the first quarter, South Carolina State receiver Shaquan Davis celebrated with Deion Sanders' Prime Time shuffle dance celebration in the end zone of Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Deion Sanders played four years with the Atlanta Falcons after being drafted No. 5 overall by the team in 1989. He famously declared that the Georgia Dome, where the Falcons played at the time, is his house and will always be his house.
The Georgia Dome has since been demolished, but an opposing player having the confidence to celebrate with Sanders' signature dance during the game in the stadium where Sanders resides in the Falcons ring of honor is noteworthy.
The Celebration Bowl is the de facto HBCU national championship game between the champions of the two HBCU Division I conferences, the MEAC and the SWAC.
It is Sanders' first bowl game as a college head coach. His sons, Shedeur and Shilo, are on the Jackson State roster.
South Carolina State won the game 31-10.
