BATON ROUGE - LSU basketball will look to maintain its perfect record as it travels to the Cayman Islands this week to face Illinois State in its first matchup at the Cayman Islands Classic.

If LSU (3-0) wins against the Redbirds (2-2) on Monday (10 a.m., Flohoops), it will face the winner of Akron and Western Kentucky on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. If the Tigers lose, they'll face the loser of that matchup at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

LSU heads into the matchup after scoring a dominant win over New Orleans on Thursday, defeating the Privateers 91-62. Mississippi State transfer Derek Fountain led all Tigers with 15 points. LSU forced 23 turnovers and got 51 points from its bench in the victory.

Illinois State lost to Northwestern State on Thursday, 70-67, in the second of consecutive matchups against the Demons. The Redbirds had defeated Northwestern State 69-67 on the Saturday prior to the loss.
