More All-State teams have been released, and once again, many of the players that made the cut are from Ascension Parish.

For the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class 5A All-State baseball team, two Ascension players made it—both coming from St. Amant.

Soon-to-be senior and LSU commit Blayne Enlow was the lone player from the area to make the first team for 5A. Enlow went 6-4 from the mound this season.

He was named District 5-5A MVP, the Parish Pitcher of the Year and he recently made the first cut in the 18U National Team tryout.

Teammate Adam Sevario—a Florida International signee—was named honorable mention. Sevario ended his career with the Gators by being named first-team all-district and Parish MVP.

Both players helped lead St. Amant to the state quarterfinals this past season, before being eliminated by top seed and eventual state champion Barbe.

Five parish players made the first team of the LSWA Class 5A All-State softball team.

St. Amant led the charge with three standouts making the cut. The Lady Gators went 23-5 during the regular season, won the district title and reached the state quarterfinals for the 15th time in the past 16 years.

Kourtney Gremillion was a first-team selection after hitting a blistering .610 for the season. The UL-Lafayette signee was also named District 5-5A MVP and Parish MVP.

Joining her on the first team were teammates Taylor Tidwell and Abby McKey.

Tidwell—an LSU commit—hit .504 for the season, and McKey hit .513. Both players made the all-district and All-Parish squads.

Two players from East Ascension made the LSWA first team in pitcher Jessie Watts and infielder Claire Weinberger.

In addition to being one of the top pitchers in the area, Watts—a UL-Monroe signee—hit .506 and was named first-team all-district and second-team All-Parish.

Weinberger finished out her career with the Lady Spartans hitting .565. The LSU signee was also first-team all-district and first-team All-Parish.

East Ascension reached the second round of the playoffs this past season. There, they dropped a heartbreaker to top-seeded and eventual state champion Alexandria.

Four Ascension Catholic players made the LSWA Class 1A All-State baseball team.

Two made the first team in pitcher Landon Clifton and infielder Nick Bellina.

Clifton went 7-2 this season as the Bulldogs’ ace. He was also named District 6-1A MVP and first-team All-Parish.

Bellini hit .455 this season and was first-team all-district and second-team All-Parish.

Both Mason Zeringue and David Girior were honorable mention All-State selections. Both players made first-team all-district. Zeringue was also first-team All-Parish.

The Bulldogs went 18-8 during the regular season, won the district crown and reached the state quarterfinals for the third straight year.

Two Ascension Catholic senior softball players were first-team All-State selections.

Pitcher Julia Beck was named the state’s Outstanding Player. Beck was also first-team all-district and Parish Pitcher of the Year.

Teammate Rae’Shaun Malancon—an LSU-Eunice signee—hit .507 en route to earning first-team honors. She was also named District 6-1A MVP and first-team All-Parish.

The Lady Bulldogs had a superb season, winning a district title and reaching the state semifinals, before being eliminated by eventual state champion Catholic of Pointe Coupee.
