For the second straight season, Donaldsonville has advanced to the second round of the girl’s basketball playoffs.

Last night, the No. 11 Lady Tigers made easy work of No. 22 Port Allen, 65-29. It was the third time Donaldsonville has beaten the Lady Pelicans this season.

The Lady Tigers put the game away early as they jumped on top, 36-15, at halftime.

Daija Harvey scored a game-high 17 for Donaldsonville. Mya Chatman scored 13 and Janira Collier had 11.

With the victory, the Lady Tigers will play No. 6 Albany in second-round action on Monday night.

Albany went 19-14 during the regular season. They beat the Lady Tigers, 44-39, in their lone meeting back on Dec. 16.
