Ascension Catholic boys cross country team places third at Baton Rouge Metro Championships, girls finish fifth

Ascension Catholic boys cross country team places third at the Baton Rouge Metro Championships.

The Ascension Catholic cross country teams competed at the Baton Rouge Metro Championships on November 5.

The boy's varsity team finished third out of 17 teams. The team was led by Zach Capello who finished third out of 248 runners, with a time of 15:42. Jesse Hood finished in fifth place with a time of 16:11. Jordan Zeringue finished in 35th place with a time of 17:17. The rest of the team finished as follows: Trey Capello (17:18), Thomas Daigle (17:35), Lee Oubre (17:47), Peyton Joffrion (19:12), Logan Thibodeaux (20:20), Hayes Russo, (20:28), and Aaron Landry, (24:32).

The girl's varsity team finished fifth out of 12 teams. Leading the girl's team was Stephanie Breaux who finished in 18th place out of 144 runners with a time of 20:49. Breanna Bernard finished in 19th place with at time of 20:52. Bailey LeBlanc finished in 45th place with a time of 22:26. The rest of the team finished as follows: Whitney Eure (23:14), Danielle Brou (24:39), Catherine Eure (25:47), Meredith Daigle (26:54), and Elizabeth Latino (30:35).

The team competes at the LHSAA State Meet on Monday, November 12, in Natchitoches.
