ACHS girl's cross-country team honored

Ascension Parish President Tommy Martinez presented parish certificates of recognition to members of the Ascension Catholic girl's cross-country team at the Dec. 3, Parish Council meeting in Donaldsonville. The Lady Bulldogs are Class 1A state champions.

The team, coached by head coach Rocky Capello and assistant coaches Janet Daigle, A.J. Thibodeaux and Kiley Spano, took first-place team honors at the Allstate Sugar Bowl LHSAA State Cross Country Championship held on Nov. 16, at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches.

Stephanie Breaux was individual state champion, while Sophie Daigle was an individual bronze medalist.
