ACHS Bulldogs fall to White Castle

The ACHS Bulldogs lost their last regular season game to White Castle 44-14. The final score does indicate how the game was played. ACHS moved the ball in the first half but turned it over two times. White Castle capitalized on the turnovers to score 22 points by halftime. ACHS sophomore running back Jacquel Wade scored from 33 yards out to make the score 22-6 at the half. ACHS turned it over to start the second half and White Castle cruised to the victory. Wade added a second half touchdown from 15 yards from junior QB DJ Latino. Latino ran in for the two-point conversion.

ACHS rushed for 201 yards on 36 carries led by Wade with 12 rushes for 83 yards and Latino had 15 for 61 yards. Latino was 12-19 for 138 yards and a touchdown, along with two interceptions. Sophomore Patrick Butler had three receptions to lead ACHS followed by senior Wade Bailey with two catches. The Bulldog defense was led by: Butler with nine stops, senior Matt Reed with six stops, sophomore Delmond Landry with five tackles and junior Gilbert Allen with four tackles.

ACHS finished the regular season at 7-3 overall and 3-2 in District 9A. ACHS was picked to finish second to last in the preseason and finished in third place. The Bulldogs grabbed the no. 23 seed in the Class A playoffs and will travel to no.10 Westminister Christian of Opelousas on Friday November 9, 2012 at 7 p.m. Listen to ACHS on KKAY 1590 AM and globalradiokkay.com
