Regardless of the opponent, making improvements from early in the season is always a goal of a coaching staff.

Head coach Drey Trosclair and his staff had to be pleased with the Bulldogs' 32-0

jamboree victory over 1A Houma Christian.

ACHS scrimmaged Northlake Christian two weeks ago and had several pre-snap and holding penalties. Much of that was cleaned up last week, and the Bulldogs' young offensive line paved the way for over 300 yards of offense in a 30-minute session.

Senior quarterback DC Mattingly finished 7-11 for 71 yards passing and two touchdowns through the air. He also added a rushing score.

Senior slot back Kaleb Winchester had three touchdowns--two from Mattingly and an 81-yard rushing touchdown to open the second half of play.

Junior Javon Yarbrough and senior Landon Landry led the ground game with some tough inside runs in the Bulldogs' new spread attack.

Yarbrough added a two-yard rushing touchdown.

Juniors Jacoby Stewart and Kebori Hunter--along with Yarbrough and Winchester--led the Bulldogs in catches.

Senior kicker Collin Landry converted two of five extra points but looks to have a strong leg, along with junior DJ Giroir on kickoffs.

The Bulldog defense gave up less than 40 yards in total offense and were led by senior linebacker Cole Amedee, fellow linebacker Landry, defensive end Collin Landry, backer Brad Achexnayder, safety Yarbrough and freshman Dillon Davis.

The defensive backs played well in coverage and intercepted three passes. Those picks were gathered by juniors Cameron Capone and Dillon Vice, along with Winchester.

The Bulldogs' JV squad won, 8-0, behind a touchdown by freshman Jamar Barber. Freshman Mason Zeringue had some nice runs, along with sophomore quarterback Bubba Gautreau.

The JV defense was led by Davis, freshmen linebackers Alex Cedatol, Parker Hales and John Mire.

Defensive backs with pass breakups included freshmen Rodney Blanchard and Alex Hebert.

The Bulldogs will look forward to preparing for the CHSPC Hornets and will play at Floyd Boutte Stadium this Thursday with a 7 p.m kickoff.
