Many, Ruston, North DeSoto headline Times All-Area football team

High school football teams from Claiborne, Webster, Lincoln, Natchitoches, Red River, DeSoto and Sabine parishes managed to navigate through a COVID-19 laced season last fall with some successes.
The positives were highlighted by Many winning the LHSAA Class 2A state title allowing the Tigers to land three major awards on the Times All-Areafootballteam.
Senior running back/linebacker Terrence Williams was selected the Athlete of the Year after rushing for 1,179 yards and 19 touchdowns. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound run stopper has offers from Louisiana Tech, Utah State and South Alabama.

Sophomore safety Tackett Curtis, selected Defensive Player of the Year, hits like a locomotive at 6-2, 195 pounds. He collected 92 tackles and four interceptions while being a destructive force returning kickoffs. He holds offers from Miss. State, Houston and Virginia Tech among others.
After advancing to the Class 2A title game last season and coming up short, Many coach Jess Curtis, the Coach of the Year, guided his Tigers through a perfect campaign in 2020 finishing 12-0 after dispatching Kinder 16-13 in the championship game.
Although he didn’t get to compete in a full season due to an injury, Ruston’s Ketravion “Bull” Hargrove was the best running back we’ve seen in a while, so the senior earned Offensive Player of the Year honors. Hargrove picked up 793 yards in just five games, averaging 8.52 yards per carry against 5A competition.
North DeSoto’s Kelvin Kinney won the nod at quarterback after marshaling a Griffin turnaround from an 0-3 start. Rushing for 840 yards, the junior led his team to a 5-0 run, including a first-round playoff victory before falling to No. 3 Tioga.
