Parish volleyball players to watch in 2017

With the beginning of the school year, we finally get our first taste of prep sports since May.

Football may be getting much of the attention and hype, but volleyball is right around the corner as well.

Every year, Ascension fields some of the best volleyball teams in the parish. Last season, five of the six schools reached the playoffs. That same kind of success is expected in 2017.

Hannah Settoon (Ascension Catholic)

Ascension Catholic will be under the direction of a new head coach in 2017. Alum Alaina Poirrier will be leading the team, and she has three seniors to lean on throughout the season. One of these seniors is Hannah Settoon. Settoon was a second-team all-district selection for the Lady Bulldogs last season as they made a run to the second round of the playoffs.
