ACHS powerlifting teams perform well at Woodlawn

The Ascension Catholic powerlifting teams produced great showings over the weekend as they traveled to Woodlawn High School for the Panther Invitational.
For the girls, Michahlyn Daigle had the best day.
Daigle won the 123.5-pound division with her total of 620. She squated 265 pounds, benched 95 and deadlifted 260.
For her efforts, she was named the meet’s Most Outstanding Lifter.
Also for Ascension Catholic, Lauren Landry won the 114.5-pound division with a total of 460. She squated 160, benched 95 and deadlifted 205.
Teammate Hannah Settoon was runner-up with a total of 460, and Ascension Catholic’s Mallory Cavalier was in third with a mark of 445.
The Lady Bulldogs’ final victory came from Camille Lemann at 132.3.
Lemann had a total of 555. She squated 210, benched 105 and deadlifted 240.
Other strong performances came from Angelle Theriot as she finished as runner-up at 105.8 with a total of 330 pounds.
Paige Joseph was runner-up at 123.5 with a total of 565, and Elizabeth Latino was runner-up at 165.3 with a total of 620 pounds.
As for the Ascension Catholic boys, their lone victory came from Ashton Bourgeois as he won the 220.3-pound division with a total of 1,195. Bourgeois squated 415, benched 295 and deadlifted 485 pounds.
At 114.5, Hunter Soileau was runner-up with a mark of 570, and Nick Milano also finished in second at 132.3. Milano’s total was 870 pounds.
Finally, the Bulldogs secured two third-place finishes.
Ross Ponville finished third at 148.8 with a total of 865 pounds, and Slater Blanchard finished in third at 165.3 with a mark of 870.
