City honors Redskins C-Team 2014 Superbowl Champs

Donaldsonville Mayor Leroy Sullivan and the city council recognized and honored the Donaldsonville Redskins C-Team Youth football at its Feb. 24 meeting on winning the 2014 Superbowl Championship of the River Parish Youth Football League.
Mayor Sullivan presented a proclamation that honored the team for winning the Superbowl that was won in November of 2014 at Southern University.
“The City of Donaldsonville applauds the loyalty and sportsmanship shown by the parents, relatives, friends and fans who followed the team throughout the year,” the proclamation read.
Mayor Sullivan added: “Congratulations to you all, and we hope that even in winning the championship you are instilling in the kids not just football but also leadership skills that will carry them on into the future.”
The team was presented with championship rings, and before leaving surprised Mayor Sullivan with a ring of his own.
Monica Fefie, a team spokesperson, thanked the mayor and city for showing the kids how much they are appreciated for finishing the year with great success.
