Hurricane Sally: Louisiana state offices, schools closed ahead of expected hurricane
Campuses, businesses and more are announcing closures as southeast Louisiana braces for Hurricane Sally.
Sally is expected to make landfall in southeast Louisiana as a Category 2 hurricane late Monday or early Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
Gov. John Bel Edwards said he is concerned about the potential for flooding from Sally, which is expected to be a slow moving storm as it makes landfall and makes its way through Louisiana.
Several parishes have also been put in place evacuation orders in preparation for the storm.

Louisiana agency offices
Edwards announced Sunday the closure of state offices in southeast Louisiana parishes threatened by Hurricane Sally.
Those parishes are Ascension, Assumption, Jefferson, Lafourche, Livingston, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Martin, St. Tammany, Washington, Tangipahoa.
Lafourche Parish government
Lafourche government offices will close at noon Monday and will remain closed through Tuesday. The Lafourche Sheriff's Office administrative offices will be closed Monday and will remain closed for the duration of Hurricane Sally.
The Greater Lafourche Port Commission offices in Galliano will remain closed until further notice. All Lafourche Parish court offices are closed for business on Monday and Tuesday.
New Orleans buses and streetcars
With heavy rains and flash flooding expected from Sally, New Orleans has announced it will suspend all bus and streetcar services at noon on Monday.
The 17th, 22nd and 24th judicial districts will be closed because of Hurricane Sally, according to the Louisiana Supreme Court.
The 17th Judicial District is closed Monday and Tuesday. It covers Lafourche Parish.
The 22nd and 24th judicial districts are closed starting at noon Monday through Tuesday. They cover St. Tammany, Washington and Jefferson parishes.
Lafourche Parish schools
The Lafourche Parish School District is closing schools and school office Monday and Tuesday, though some operations will continue remotely.
"All employees will work remotely Monday and Tuesday, and virtual learning will be offered to all LPSD students to the best of our ability," the district said on Facebook. "However, if we experience power outages, all virtual activities will be canceled."
All Catholic schools in the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux will be closed Monday and Tuesday.

Jefferson Parish schools
The Jefferson Parish Public Schools will be closed Monday and Tuesday.
"Depending on the impact of the storm, we may make additional adjustments, especially for our schools in Grand Isle and Lafitte," the district said on Facebook.
Concordia Lutheran School will be closed Monday. Closure decisions will be made daily by school administrators.
JCFA East will be closed Tuesday and will ask students to work virtually on Wednesday.
JCFA West will be closed Tuesday and will ask students to work virtually on Wednesday.
Orleans Parish Schools
Orleans Public Schools - No in-person instruction will begin across school campuses Monday. All schools will remain on distance learning through at least Wednesday of this week.
New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary/ Leavell College has cancelled classes and closed offices Monday-Wednesday.
New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary - Monday through Wednesday.
NOCCA student classes/distance learning is cancelled Monday and Tuesday.
University of Holy Cross classes scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, are cancelled. This is inclusive of both remote and on-campus classes.
Little Gate and Louise S. McGehee School of Orleans Parish will be open for classes on Monday. All after school activities and After Care are canceled on Monday.
Plaquemines Parish schools
Public schools in Plaquemines Parish will be closed Monday and Tuesday.
Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Belle Chasse will be closed Monday and Tuesday. Reopening information will be announced at a later date.
St. Bernard Parish schools
Public schools will be closed Monday, including the virtual learning program.
Nunez Community College will close Monday in anticipation of Sally. Available classes will be offered virtually. Updates for Sept. 15 and beyond will be posted to Nunez.edu and all Nunez social media accounts.
Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Chalmette will be closed Monday and Tuesday. Reopening information will be announced at a later date.
St. Charles Parish schools
Public schools closed Monday through Wednesday for both in-person and virtual learning.
Terrebonne Parish schools
The Terrebonne Parish School District will be closed Monday and Tuesday.
Tulane announced it is cancelling classes after noon on Monday, both in person and online, through Tuesday. The university said it would provide an update on Wednesday's status in the coming days.
Still reeling from Hurricane Laura:Tropical Storm Sally has Louisiana in its sights
The university is operating normally on Monday until 4 p.m., but is suspending operations on Tuesday.
University of New Orleans
The university is moving all classes online Monday. More information for Tuesday is being emailed to students
Nicholls State University
All classes at Nicholls State University are being moved online through Wednesday.
